Chris' Bio

Chris Sullivan brings over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry to his role as Commercial Practice Leader at POWERS Insurance & Risk Management. Since joining the firm in 2014 he has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth tailoring risk management solutions for the Cannabis, Construction, Hospitality, and Manufacturing industries.

Chris is deeply committed to helping businesses remain viable and successfully transition to the next generation. He often says, “Nothing great comes without risk.” This philosophy is central to his work as Chris helps clients navigate the risks that come with growth and innovation through the POWERS' consultative, risk assessment-driven process.

A standout accomplishment in Chris’s career was the successful launch of the Cannabis practice in 2019 which positioned POWERS to be a leader in the space and established a model for the company’s national Advisor team. Today, POWERS provides insurance and risk management services vital to the cannabis and other industries throughout the US.

Outside of work, Chris—affectionately known as “Sully”—is a self-proclaimed "stereotypical family man" and enjoys loading up the car for a 13-hour drive to the beach, complete with a cargo carrier and bike rack, for a fun-filled adventure with his wife and three sons. Other Sullivan family hobbies include surf fishing, backcountry skiing, ice hockey, picking up NERF® darts, and mastering the application of superglue.
